Stephen Loo & Marnie Badham – Sounding Hungry for Justice:

Practice-research creation through curating socio-political and ethico-aesthetic performances in gastronomic ecologies

Two performance lectures on the ethical and jurisprudential power of food / eating as a medium for transnational negotiations, through a distinctively Asian sonic epistemology, towards a co-curatorial framework for contemporary art and design. 
Presented contrapunctally, the lectures work from the ‘outside’ engaging social ecologies of feasting, talking and listening across cultural differences in pursuit of social justice; and from the ‘inside’ of bodies and psycho-physiologies of eating connected to the materiality of food, linguistics of recipes and the sonics of mastication.
