Wood, Hampson, Jaques, & Bliss – ‘Culture of Work’ – Symposium

The ‘Culture of Work’ symposium will delve into the multiple ways design practices operate and specifically, in the fields of landscape architecture and indigenous design.  Our guest speakers will reflect on their individual trajectories in practice: where have they been, and what inspired them to establish their own practices where they could ‘make it work’?

The symposium will explore questions about the relationships between architecture and landscape, critical thinking and practice, and striking the balance between work and play i.e. well-being.  We will discuss various models of practice, and the ways each practitioner goes about finding the work through research-led design, engaging a community of practitioners, and exploring the potential of the ‘crazy idea’.  What is the role of the entrepreneur in practice? What does the future of practice look like in today’s world?
