Stephen Neille – The Critical Section ▶

We ask you to bring your section into this Thinking Room as a – if not the – fundamental instrument of design. Through a careful dissection of projects by Stephen Neille and his collaborators, as well as by other architects, we will explore the criticality of this tool.

Under discussion will be concepts such as the free section, double skins, the internalisation of the city, the relationships between structure, space, and occupation, and the building-less section. What does the section reveal? And how can it contain the full story of the project?
